چکیده
Enhancing cereal crop production to feed the largely growing population is an important approach towards maintaining food security. Fertilizer management major component of requiring special attention for sustainable application. Integrated nutrient (INM) evolving idea, which appears contribute management. A field study was designed see impact INM on a maize–wheat cropping system during winter (wheat) and summer (maize) season at Agronomic Research Farm, Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, Pakistan. Both wheat maize crops were grown consecutively along with full inorganic fertilizer (NPK) as well partial dose (25%, 50%, 75% NPK) supplemented or without addition biochar (5 ton/ha). Data collected regarding growth, yield quality further analyzed using MSTAT-C statistics software. Results revealed that (75% NPK + Biochar) enabled improve dry matter its translocation sink in turn boosted productivity. This treatment improved (19%, 57%), grain weight (44%, 54%), (60%, 63%) harvest index (30%, 29%) over control crops. It also uptake plants contents grains. Similarly, recorded higher productivity (USD 790, USD 830) both years found be economically under INM. concluded strategy can sustainability maintain

Increasing Cropping System Diversity Balances Productivity, Profitability and Environmental Health
Balancing productivity, profitability, and environmental health is a key challenge for agricultural sustainability. Most crop production systems in the United States are characterized by low species and management diversity, high use of fossil energy and agrichemicals, and large negative impacts on the environment. We hypothesized that cropping system diversification would promote ecosystem ser...

The effect of tillage, crop establishment and weed management was studied on theperformance of wheat grown after soybean at New Delhi, India during 2010-11 to 2011-12.Sixteen treatment combinations involved 2 tillage, viz. conventional tillage (CT) and zero tillage(ZT), two crop establishment practices, viz. raised-bed and flat-bed and four weed management, viz. isoproturon + hand weeding, mesos...

Rice-rice system and rice fallows are no longer productive in Southeast Asia. Crop and varietal diversification of the rice based cropping systems may improve the productivity and profitability of the systems. Diversification is also a viable option to mitigate the risk of climate change. In Eastern India, farmers cultivate rice during rainy season (June-September) and land leftovers fallow aft...
متن کاملBiochar: Effects on Crop Productivity and Soil Properties
World food security is under challenge to a great extent due to effects of climate change, continued population growth and resource-depleting practices on agriculture (IAASTD, 2009). Presently poor farmers use either organic manure or inorganic fertilizers (Mando et al., 2005; Topoliantz et al., 2005) for maintaining soil fertility as they cannot afford to apply fertilizers as a nutrient source...

In order to investigate the effect of pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicides on nutrient depletion, weed population and nutrient uptake by wheat in sesame-wheat cropping system in Khuzestan a field experiment was conducted in randomized complete block design with three replications in the research farm of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz in 2019-2020. Treatments included no weeding, hand...
